Corr 50th Anniversary Dinner
On December 28, 1967, John Corr, a Wilton High School graduate, gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in Vietnam. Since then, a Wilton High School student athlete that best exemplifies the leadership and personal character of John Corr has been chosen by a Board of Directors and given the Lt. John G. Corr Memorial Award.
On June 16th, 2017 a dinner was held to mark the 50th presentation of the Lt. John G. Corr Award and the man whom the award was named. The dinner included former John Corr Award winners, their immediate family, selected coaches, Corr Family members, Corr Board Members and Wilton High School faculty and administration.
The evening was a tribute to John and how he lived his life. Speakers included Nick Zeoli (original board member and John's coach), Kevin Smith (WHS Superintendent), Toni Boucher (CT Senator) and Gail Lavielle (CT Congresswoman), Larry Hershberger (USMC Classmate of John) and Muggsy Corr (John's Brother).
